Seminar on organisational branding at Civil Service Institute

Bandar Seri Begawan – A seminar on organisational branding for the public sector, entitled “New Models for Government in a New World Order”, was held at the Civil Service Institute (IPA) yesterday.

The guest speaker was Lawrence Chong, the Chief Executive Officer and Director for Strategy Development at Consulus, a regional firm based in Singapore that specialises in organisational branding with business and design capabilities.

Among those who attended the seminar were IPA Director Sharifah Fatmah Shaikh Hj Ahmad, officers and personnel from various government ministries.

Lawrence discussed how the emergence of educated middle class and fast-changing mode of communication and travel affect the way governments operate. He added that relevant ministries should implement strategic plans in order to adapt into changes and challenges.

Lawrence has worked in Brunei since 2007 with Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), DST Communications Sdn Bhd, Ministry of Communications and Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources (MIPR).

As an international speaker, Lawrence has presented to more than 7,000 people in the Asia-Pacific region.

He was also one of the 40 global speakers selected to present at the inaugural World Marketing Summit convened by Professor Phillip Kotler in 2012.

He is currently the President of Design Business Chamber Singapore and is part of the Executive Committee of Asian Conference of Religions for Peace.
