25 October 2012 – After two years of preparation, Designers Association Singapore (DAS) is now rebranded as Design Business Chamber Singapore. Held at the Fullerton Hotel Ballroom on 17th of Oct, the night saw 260 guests in attendance along with past-presidents and directors of the various design organisations in Singapore.
“Consulus is proud to have made a small contribution in shaping the design industry. Our people put in an extraordinary amount of time from organisation to communication and it was worth it because a stronger industry helps us too,” Florence Oh, Chairman at Consulus, said.
Consulus also developed the new brand identity of the DBCS with Equus, a demonstration that the design industry can work together.
In his speech to the members of the chamber, Lawrence Chong, who is currently serving as president of DBCS and CEO of Consulus, stressed that while the name may have changed, its ambition and its core mission remains the same – to put designers, the creative minority, at the forefront and transform Singapore into a global capital of design.
During the same evening, the annual Singapore Design Awards was given out and Consulus secured 3 wins for Tong Ming Xi and myVillage at Serangoon Garden.

About Singapore Design Awards
The SDA was launched by then Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew in 1988 during the International Design Forum. It is a regional award with entries from around the world and is judged by an international panel of judges. The awards allow the best of Singapore design firms to compete with international design firms. It has an emphasis on design solutions which solves a business problem. DBCS has organised SDA since 1988.
