5 March 2013 – Device Services Co. Ltd joins Consulus’ regional network in providing business design and brand consultancy services to fast-growing Myanmar Brands seeking to expand internationally. The addition of the Myanmar partnership adds to the already strong Consulus presence in South-East Asia, including countries like Vietnam, Philippines and Brunei.

“This is an opportune moment to enter into Myanmar. Having a good partner to work with is important and Device Services Co. Ltd has the experience and organisational development that compliments our consultancy’s solutions,” Florence Oh, Chairman at Consulus, said.

Mr Tin Zan Kyaw, leader of business management and human resource consultancy firm, Device Services, will head the partnership. Mr Tin possesses over 20 years of management experience and has worked in PepsiCo as a General Manager.

“Currently, there are many individual practices and mindsets. Most are traditional in thinking and needs to be more progressive. For that to happen, a sustainable business model is important and the organisation and people need to be aligned. We are working with Consulus to help companies attain international standards and get new ideas by thinking outside the box. We hope to see a global Myanmar brand in every industry and sector,” Tin, Managing Director at Device Services Co. Ltd, said.

With Europe in turmoil and the US economy still struggling to find its feet, Asian economies now play a bigger role in driving sustainable growth globally. However, while Asia is expected to serve as a growing market for consumer products, few Asian brands are near the top of the league of brands. To lead the future, Myanmar companies must catch up in terms of creating intellectual property, developing unique business models and designing new experiences.

In the recent months, Consulus entered Myanmar on the invitation of B2B Magazine Myanmar to conduct the 1st Shape the World Conference. Held at the prestigious Traders Hotel, 120 business leaders from diverse industries such as banking, telecommunications, contractors and service providers discussed new ideas and reviewed challenges facing Myanmar as the country continues to open up rapidly. Consulus entered into a partnership with Device Services Co. Ltd in order to continue changing the business landscape of Myanmar beyond the Conference.

“Our country has been sleeping for a long time. Now that we are opening up, local companies have to solve the problems that they have been facing, especially regarding systematic growth. Consulus’ capabilities in organisational design is one of the reasons why we are partnering them,” Dr Htet Zan Linn, Director at Devices Co. Ltd and CEO at B2B Management Magazine, said.

In addition to Myanmar, Consulus is now present in Brunei, Dubai, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam. Consulus is also operating in South Asian countries like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India and the Maldives.
