CEO of Consulus shared insights at CEO’s Breakfast Forum in Sri Lanka

May 26, 2017 | English, News & Updates, Sri Lanka

Mr Lawrence Chong, CEO of Consulus, has spoken to a packed house of 120 CEOs and senior management of the largest companies in Sri Lanka at the CEO’s Breakfast Forum today at Jetwing Hotel Colombo. The event titled “Redesigning an effective organisation in an age of disruption” was organised by The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) – Sri Lanka Region.

Lawrence shared about the most common concerns of CEOs based on Consulus experience in transforming companies throughout the last 13 years. From being worried about too many competitors, unexpected competitors, succession concerns, inter-generational divide and fickle-minded customers, Lawrence touched on how Consulus has adapted its method to help CEOs determine a customised way forward to design an effective organisation to deal with the complexities of this age.

From sharing unique insights gathered from the years of conducting the PurposeCORE exercise for companies, Lawrence highlighted how too many companies kick the can down the road and delay the action for change, increasing their risks of failure.

Through case studies and examples, Lawrence then shared how redesigning the organisation model based on purpose matters in driving impact and why it is important to upgrade the role of HR into what he called strategic HR instead of functional HR. Lawrence also shared how Consulus worked with staff from client side to create new concepts and intellectual property that can generate higher value.
